Series 3200 Proves Its Worth in 49-Position PSAP

In July of 2007, the call-taking and dispatch system that had just been installed in the new 9-1-1 Communications Center at DeKalb County, Georgia, proved its worth. Mere minutes after the cutover to the new system had been completed, a man whose wife was having a heart attack called the center for help. Thanks to the center’s new equipment, including its Zetron Series 3200 E9-1-1 Telephone System, the operator was able to track the caller and dispatch emergency help to the scene immediately.

"We get well over a million calls a year, and our margin of error is zero," says Paul O’Neal (Neal) Hardin, ENP, Telecommunications Supervisor and Radio Systems Manager for DeKalb County. "We needed a system that would be reliable, redundant, and intuitive for our operators to use. And that’s what we got.”

Acom Is the Centerpiece of TuWay Communication’s Triple-Threat Solution

During late 2006 and early 2007, Zetron, TuWay Communications, and the Monroe County Control Center in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, completed a comprehensive update of the control center. 5 Ways Zetron Helps You Prepare for the Future
1. Use Zetron radio dispatch systems to migrate to digital radios.
Zetron’s Series 4000 allows you to dispatch to both analog and digital radios at the same time, which can improve interoperability. With Zetron’s Intelligent Radio Interface Module (iRIM), you can migrate to digital radio without having to replace your existing analog console with an expensive digital one.

2. Meet upcoming narrow-banding requirements.
FCC-mandated 12.5 kHz and 6.25 kHz narrow-banding requirements are on the horizon. With Zetron consoles, you can interface to legacy analog FM radios and digital, narrow-band radios. This allows you to migrate your entire radio system from analog to digital at your own pace.

3. Use Zetron consoles to conform to P25.
Zetron consoles can help you conform to P25 standards. This helps you qualify for federal P25 funds, improves your interoperability, provides a rich feature set, and gives you access to an open architecture, so you’re not limited to a single vendor. (See Zetron’s P25 Application Note for details.)

4. Get ready for Next-Gen 9-1-1 with the Series 3300.
Zetron's Series 3300 VoIP Call-Taking System is engineered not only to deliver the proven reliability and performance for which Zetron is known, but to support new 9-1-1 standards and technologies as they emerge. It's a system for the present that will carry you well into the future.

5. Upgrade your system as digital and IP technologies evolve.
 Zetron offers migration paths for:
 • Zetron radio dispatch systems
 • Zetron 9-1-1 call-taking systems
 • Zetron IP Fire Station Alerting
